Started in 1995 as an aluminum industry analyst. In 2007, founded HARBOR Aluminum and became Managing Director of Market Intelligence and Industry Consulting. Jorge is advisor to the world’s largest aluminum upstream and downstream companies on topics related to aluminum market intelligence, trade, prices, procurement/marketing strategy, and industry competitiveness. He has become the world’s most sought-after aluminum expert for legal disputes, arbitration cases, and government hearings. Mr. Vazquez has been advisor to the US Senate (Carl Levin and John McCain), US Department of Justice, US Department of Commerce, US Department of Defense, US International Trade Commission and the Canadian Trade Tribunal on matters related to the aluminum industry. Jorge is the only aluminum market expert that has ever been invited to testify on matters related to the aluminum market before the US Senate.

Tim Weiner has been with HARBOR for the past three years as the Head of the newly created autonomous Aluminum Pricing and Risk Management Unit. He comes to us from the Molson Coors Beverage Company (MillerCoors & SABMiller), where he was, among several other vital roles, responsible for overseeing the development and execution of all financial risk management & hedging strategies for their global commodities portfolios. He is a current member of the London Metals Exchange Physical Markets Committee and has over 25 years of risk management, asset management and trading experience.

Tom began his career as a process engineer in aluminum smelting. He later moved into metallurgical support of aluminum casthouse products, including process management of high purity and super high purity operations at Alcoa. Later, Tom became the Marketing Manager for Alcoa’s defense business unit. He spent his remaining years as Strategic Marketing Director of Alcoa Materials Management in Knoxville, TN. He also served on the Aluminum Association’s statistics committee and as board member of the Aluminum Extruders Council. Joined HARBOR in March 2017.

Started his career in 2006 as a financial planning analyst for Alcoa. In 2008, became commercial liaison for Latin America for Alcoa’s Flat Rolled Products Group. In 2011, became marketing analyst for Alcoa’s Material Management Group. In 2014, joined HARBOR as Senior Aluminum Trade Analyst (slab, billet, PFA, WR and P1020).

Started in 2001 as macroeconomic analyst for HARBOR Intelligence. In 2006, became an aluminum analyst for HARBOR Aluminum. In 2007, became co-editor of HARBOR’s publications: Aluminum Market and Price & Premiums Outlook. In 2010, became Vice President of Aluminum Industry Analysis (scrap and primary aluminum markets).

Mike Otero has over 25 years of international experience in the aluminum industry, including in the US, Oman and Mexico. He has held various senior positions throughout his career including in finance, procurement, operations, sales, and general management.  Among the companies he has worked for include Alcan,  Rio Tinto, Sohar Aluminum, Oman Aluminum Rolling Company, and Almexa. He is currently HARBOR’s Senior Consultant of Flat Rolled Products Markets.

David Rosenblum has worked in the global aluminum scrap industry for the last 48 years. For the last 18 years, he was Vice President of Non-Ferrous Sales at Omnisource and finished his last year with Aluminum Dynamics LLC. Before that, he worked with secondary aluminum smelters and metal trading companies in Europe and the USA. He is currently a senior advisor for Harbor Aluminum Intelligence.

Gerardo Solorio is a Senior Analyst of HARBOR’s Aluminum Intelligence Unit. He is co-editor of HARBOR’s Price Outlook and Intelligence Reports, specializing in futures prices and industry fundamentals. Gerardo joined HARBOR in 2010 and holds a Master’s degree in Investment Management from Imperial College London.

Mr. García is head of the Alumina & Bauxite unit of HARBOR Aluminum, lead of HARBOR’s Green Markets unit, and co-editor of HARBOR’s Production Intelligence Report. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from The University of Sydney, Australia.
