World’s primary aluminum production expands in February; stronger growth expected in the coming months amid new restarts

 
ALUMINUM PRODUCTION UPDATE.

Global primary aluminum production expanded in February for the first time in four months, up by an estimated 0.4% m/m amid a reported recovery in production run rates in Asia ex-China and Latin America. Overall, HARBOR projects ROW’s production will expand in 2019 by 1.3 million mton (or 4.6% y/y) and China’s to grow by 1.6 million mton (or 4.5% y/y).
