Executive Summary

2. LME PRICE ALERT. Worst m/m decline in US manufacturing production in April marks cyclical bottom for aluminum demand and a starting point of demand recovery.

3. Nearby and longer-term LME contangos still near their widest in more than four years (supportive for spot premiums).

4. The Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) was closed today due to the Labor Day holiday. Overnight and after-hours trading will resume on Wednesday, May 6.
