China’s aluminum prices remain in range- trading mode amid demand/trade uncertainty

SHFE two-month aluminum prices closed the overnight session down 0.4% at 13,745 yuan per mton ($1,764 per mton, excluding VAT) and extended their losses in after-hours trading until reaching 13,655 yuan per mton ($1,752 per mton, excluding VAT). Prices fell along with the base metals complex due to profit-taking activity, rising demand growth concerns, and some trade uncertainty. Aluminum prices in China have range traded over the past four weeks, mainly within 13,600–13,800 yuan per mton ($1,745–$1,770 per mton, excluding VAT).
