As much as 1,200 mton of aluminum foundry ingots from China seems to have already arrived in the US thus far in March

USA FOUNDRY ALERT.

According to HARBOR’s trade intelligence, Chinese foundry ingots have arrived in the US, with as much 1,200 mton already entering the country so far this month. Specifically, we can confirm these units have arrived through the US West Coast and apparently are destined for the aluminum wheels market. We have not yet confirmed whether these are Primary or Secondary Foundry units. According to our visibility, if these units are Primary Foundry Alloys (i.e. A356.2), they would be the first ever Chinese-origin PFA units to make it all the way to the US. On the other hand, if these units are instead Secondary Foundry Alloys (i.e. A380.1), it would then be the largest ever Chinese-origin SFA volumes that we have identified.
