ACCELERATION TO CONTINUE. Primary Aluminum Production to Roar Back Despite Curtailments

 

SUMMARY. World primary aluminum production expansion is expected to regain momentum from Q2 2024 amid ongoing restarts in the Americas and anticipated seasonal restarts in China. A further boost to ROW’s primary production will be driven by new capacity ramp-ups expected in India, Russia, and Indonesia heading into 2025, largely offsetting the expected curtailment of the New Madrid smelter in the US.
